I confess I’d never read the full Declaration of Independence before this week.
Sure, I knew the beginning and I knew the ending. And I had an idea of what was in the middle, but I’d never actually bothered to read the whole thing.
Nearly 250 years later, it’s still very powerful. (And yes, there’s misogyny and racism and a bit too much God for my taste, but for the most part it’s still relevant and speaks directly to our situation and our time).
And if you feel up to it, I’d encourage you to tape yourself reading the full Declaration of Independence and post it.

Thanks. Yes. I carry a copy of the Declaration and Constitution in my purse, and we also have a copy in the car. There are these great pocket sized ones, cheap, that can be bought and handed out to those who may need one - which is everybody in the U.S., isn't it?
